Director General for Self-Employment, Social Economy and Corporate Social Responsibility at the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Social Economy
Maravillas Espín is Doctor in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid where she has developed her teaching and research activity in the Area of Labour and Social Security Law.
She is a specialist in self-employment, entrepreneurship and associated work, in social economy, public policies to combat social exclusion and protection of vulnerable groups. In all of them she applies the gender perspective as a transversal methodological criterion.
Her doctoral thesis “The working partner. Criteria to systematize the reality of collective self-employment”, obtained the National Prize of the Economic and Social Council in 2008. She is the author of numerous articles and chapters in collective works. In her most recent publications, she addresses legal issues transformed by the economic crisis, successive labour reforms and the impact of international and European legislation.
